Hunt for Land

Our website is dedicated to locating land for hunting purposes.  Land management and habitat management for wild game is crucial for not only the survival of big game animals but also for their ability to thrive in the wild.  Our goal is to find large tracts of undisturbed land to purchase to set up these hunting preserves.  Hunting and fishing is a large part of what makes the United States the great country that it is today.  So preserving the land that animals bred and produce offspring is vital to not only their health but the general well being of the public.

Why I Chose Hardwood Flooring  

                When I purchased my new house I was faced with choosing to have hardwood flooring or carpet flooring.  Having always lived in a house with carpet flooring, I was optimistic to try a new type of flooring, but I felt it may suit my lifestyle more efficiently.  So, here are a few things I learned along the way.

                When picking out my flooring I faced my second tough decision, color, specie, width, and type of hardwood flooring I would like.  While you think it wouldn’t be a hard decision to pick out your favorite, it is quite a decision because there is so much out on the market. My first decision was choosing between engineered flooring and solid hardwood flooring, in my case with concrete subfloor in the basement I chose engineered flooring.  Secondly, I decided on a color, which my personal favorite was dark.  Next, I picked out the width of flooring I would like to have, I choose to have the wide length plank.  Lastly, I had to choose the specie; some species are softer than others so depending on the type of traffic and children around you may want to invest some time looking into the different specie for your particular needs.

                After picking out the particular hardwood I wanted, it was time to get my floor measured and ready to install.  One important tip I learned during the process was to always order 5-10% extra, if using first quality 5% should be sufficient, but with second quality 10% may be needed.  Once you have purchased your hardwood flooring it will need to be acclimated in your house to make for a easy installation and to keep the floor from ruining when it expands and contracts.  For my particular house, the engineered would upstairs was nailed down to a plywood subfloor, but the basement floor was floated because it was placed over concrete.  If you choose to use glue on a concrete floor that is possible, but make sure the installer is experienced, because with all glue it can get extremely messy.

                I have had my hardwood installed for a couple of years now and I will have to say it was a great investment.  It is more efficient for my young family, and is easier to keep clean after spills and accidents.  After having carpet and hardwood I would have to agree with the growing trend of switching to hardwood floors.
